About
Dr Melissa Wong is a General Practitioner who currently practices in Narre Warren at Fountain Gate Medical Centre.
After graduating from Monash University in 2013, Dr. Wong worked at Monash Health for several years as an emergency medicine trainee before deciding to specialise in general practice. During her hospital registrar years, she was able to hone her broad range of medical interests in child and women’s health, mental health, minor surgical procedures and medical education.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Wong is passionate about medical education and is a GP supervisor for GP trainees and previously served as the Head of Content at GP Academy, Australia’s leading educational program for GPs in training.
She has also untaken additional training in paediatrics, and completed the Sydney Child Health Program.
She is trained to perform IUD (intrauterine device) insertions including Mirena, Kyleena and Copper IUDs. To improve access to long term contraceptive options, Dr Wong bulk bills IUD insertions for eligible health care card and pension card holders and will see new patients for this.
